Mica is available in two grades. Muscovite and uncalcianated Phologophite. By reconstituting the mica into mica paper, this can then be bonded to various backing films such as polyester or glass fabric.

With impregnation from a suitable resin, mica tape is suitable for a range of high voltage applications.
